Verso’s use of recovered fiber is yet another way we optimize resources,
protect the environment and help our customers meet their environmental goals.
Recovered fiber is a valuable raw material that can be used to supplement
virgin wood fiber in paper products. Verso Paper produces recycled content
products because they help support our customers' environmental goals. In
2006, we expanded our product line to make recycled content available in
the majority of paper grades we manufacture.
Verso Paper supports the paper industry goal of 60 percent fiber recovery by 2012.
Today, about 56 percent of paper consumed in the United States is recovered for
recycling – about 360 pounds for every man, woman and child.
